Excerpts from MAW BirdTraffic White Paper
Purpose of the paper was to develop some point estimates for income statement and balance sheet results for a measurable group of public companies that also are MDM Top Distributors.
Selection
We cross-referenced the list of MDM Top Distributors with the list of Fintel Ventures NYSE Wholesaler-Distributors. There were 13 companies in common. We dropped the largest four and the smallest four to creates a 5-company index of like-size companies.
The average revenue for the group in 2023 was $5.6 billion.
The project included a spread of balance sheet, income statement and cash flow results over the three years 2021-2023 created from 10-K reports filed with the SEC.
Reduction
Then, as a final step, we reduced the index results proportionately to create a hypothetical company of a size under $100 million. This was for the purpose of creating a set of figures for a demonstration company.
The reduction factor was 1% - in other words, the demo company is 1% the size of the 5-company average. This revenue was $55 million for 2023.
